I’ve only been doing crochet for about 2 weeks. I’m following a pattern for a baby blanket and it tells me to make 84 rows for my strips. However I stopped at 64 because the strips already reach my chest from the floor. Will this mess up the pattern?
I’ve read that the stockinette stitch always leads to curling edges, but I’m not doing that– I’m just purling, and the edges of the scarf I’m making curl quite a bit. I tried adding a border of two knit stitches at each end of each row, and at first, this seemed to work, but once I completed about eight inches, the edges started curling a lot again
. Is there anything I can do to avoid this (other than wet blocking)?
When knitting patterns with different coloured wool in the same row, it looks raised and “gathered” on the right side. Should I twist the wool when doing fai-isle?
My stitches are nice and even all across rows. But when I get to the last stitch, whether knit or purl, it always is very loose. Anyway to avoid that?
i’m knitting a scarf with a knit one row, purl one row pattern, and it keeps curling on the sides. how can i keep it from curling in on the sides because right now it just looks like a really long knitted cylinder, and it’s not attractive.
Im using a large hook and can only find it in acrylic, how can I stop it from squeaking when I crochet?
Thanks I am using Susan Bates and acrylic yarn! Since both of ya’ll answered the same I cant really pick a best answer
