Anyone know a really simple but not boring crochet pattern for a baby blanket?

I know the basics of crocheting. I can make a chain and i can work off of that. It just seems that it always turns out boring. I have a beginners book on crochet to help me along but i would like to hear from other people too. the yarn would like to use is multi-colored so i know it forms a color pattern the further i work into it. any suggestions?

Can someone recommend a simple knitting pattern?

I just started knitting a few weeks ago, and I think I’m ready to start my first project. I’ve got the hang of the knit stitch, but I’m a little shaky on my purl.

I’m looking for something in the way of arm warmers or a hat. Anything else is fine though.

Also, I’m having a little trouble reading patterns. All the abbreviations confuse me, so if you could explain the abbreviations used I’d be really grateful.

Thank you!

How do i make a simple Yarn Lei?

How to knit a simple, easy but BIG blanket?

I’m a fairly new knitter. Actually, my mom taught me a few years ago, I forgot, and then she retaught me the other day. I’ve never been SUPER good at it.

Anyways. I want to knit a blanket, not a baby blanket, but a BIG blanket (twin sized) with thick wool yarn. It doesn’t need to be fancy, I just think that it would be a rewarding project to undertake while watching TV for a few months. I only really know the Knit stich, though I can do purl, but I don’t really want a pattern anyways.

Does anyone know how to go about this? Should I just make a bunch of squares and sew them together? Is that what people do?

Also, how do you make the tassel ties? I only know how to cast-on.

Any recommendations for where to buy the yarn?

how would I make a border for a simple knit stitch scarf?

I am knitting a scarf (the first one I have ever made) and I want to know how to do a border for it – crochet or knit?

Does anyone know any really simple crochet patterns of coasters?

However, if you know of another fun crochet activity that isn’t a coaster, I would gladly take those too :) As long as they are beginner friendly.
I have just begun crocheting and I get bored really easy with just making the beginning squares, and figured coasters would be a good start. I’ve looked around, and all the different ones I found are beyond my skill, or the pattern looks simple, but the directions are written for those of a higher skill than I.
