after months of looking for the perfect zig zag
that a beginner like me can do i found this one
and gave it a try. everything was going great until
the five stitches before the decrease turned into six
what im i doing wrong??? please help
hmm… i understand how to do it in rows but how would i do this in a round for sumthing like a hat?
@Camixxxxxxxxxx You work a decrease on the edges and then a stitch so the edge will remain straight.
@tjw1963 Thanks! one more question!!! lol. sorry this stitch has been drving me crazy! what exactly do you mean by different decrease on the ends? ive tried 3 differnt ways to do this stitch but i always end up having less or more on my ends!! what am i doing wrong

@TheJaga4 hi teresa i must have made a big mistake because i chained 304 and wound up with a blanket that is less than 3 ft. wide i am making a sc ripple and i counted the stitches in my last row (which is now 40) and there are only 175 stitches in the row. what did i do wrong and must i make more than 304 chains to make the blanket 60 inches wide??

@TheJaga4 How wide do you want to make the blanket? I would estimate that you work a chain of 150 for a child. Crochet blankets can be made any size.

I wanted to make a scarf with this technique. Is this possible? If so, how many should I chain to start?
iam confused on the 1st row… the 1st & last sc decrease on the 1st row, am i doing it differently than the other rows? Am i skipping the 3rd chain in the decrease? or am i pulling up the 3 loops together and then pull through all 3? (bc you say the center is diff than the edges…. but in the 1st row you say to do the decrease like the center)
