I make my own rifle slings that are stronger than the ones that you buy out the shops. I use para cord and knitting needles to knit a rifle sling total cost 2-3 GBP. that iz a good idea
What do you use to connect the sling to the rifle sling mounts?
hahaha camo knitting needles hahaha
Winters are long in Maine.
you knitted it haha not sayin its bad or girly just kinda funny using MILITARY string for a GUN and you knit it lol but also crotcheting is easier and faster that knitting and you get basicly the same thing it just looks a little different
that is a very good job, i dont know why i didnt think of that.
Thats really well done!
subbed
anything. you could use it to hang your clothes on to dry, cou can actually even make it a weopon. that thing hurts like hell if you get hit with it. if you put glue on it and stiffen it up, it hurts even more.
I have a pair of boots that I replaced the laces with extended paracord. It is more comfortable and I have extra cord.
That is good to know because as much as I WANT TO come across as the practical, no bullshit guy – if it serves no purpose it doesn’t belong, etc., … fact is that sling is just FREAKIN’ COOL LOOKING! I might just make some even if a leather would be more lets say proper as a support. Hell, I might make some for my cameras! Actually that’s an awesome idea! Then I will have to visit grandma, and knowing her… she’ll be making the straps and slings:) Gotta love gramma! And she actuallyHUNTS
The para cord sling will make a good sling for shooting sling supported the only thing is that you cannot adust the length easly and the sling does stretch slightly so i have found that it is quite hard to get the sling to go tight when i tuck my elbow through is shooting sling supported i would prestretch the sling after it is made and then shorten it to desired lenth for suported shooting
That’s an outstanding idea – para chord seems to be the duct tape of wilderness survival. Next to duct tape of course
Jokes aside, that is a GOOD looking sling! The question I have (and I have not seen you do this in your vids so perhaps you don’t use that approach making it a non issue for you) do you ever shoot sling supported? If so, how does the sling fare for that? How much give does it have? Myself I just find the sling really helps consistency. Pleasure as always.
hy there Great vidio….
how many meters do i going to need to make a sling?
Thanks
sercout
wilderness shelters, fishing, bow strings, traps, tourniquet, field dressing, getting food out of the reach of preditors, lashing rafts ……. the list goes on and on any use that you can think of were you might need some form of cordage. Also catfish don’t insult other users commenting on my video’s be polite if you have a question to ask then ask nicely. I have deleted your other comments because of your insults. If you don’t want to play by the rules then i will simply block you
Like what?
and another thing about using a paracord sling is that if its needed, the paracord can be used as something other than a sling. you can undo the stitching and use it for something else
handguns, centrefire semi autos, full autos are illegal, all others are available but hard to obtain and use
para cord and leather are going to stand up to a sharp knife about the same which is to say they will both cut just as easy, but leather will snap under the stress of being pulled a hell of a lot esier than cord, and leather will stretch when wet, as paracord does not. just my own opinion.
yes cheaper and stronger, plus you can create your own size and length, which i could not find for my full length shotgun(at the local shops), also paracord is very comfortable on the shoulder.
might as well be.
Dude that is the best. You have all that pc at a moments notice. You should knit some riot armour. Maybe a breast plate, double layer in vital areas. Nice. I have to learn to knit. Thanks Brother.
they are sort of, you have to have a firearms certificate to own 1, its hard to get 1
for some reason I thought firearms were illegal in the Uk
Having said that i have a paracord sling that has been on a rife that has been in regular use for over 2 years and it is still going strong but I agree that it is not are durable as leather. If do get a cut in the sling it is not going to instantly unravel and i can fix it easily so it is not a major concern and the sing honestly is the most comfortable sling i have used because of it width and slight elasticity. The video is just an idea for people…if you want go use a leather sling
Well that your opinion mate. But i never said it was more durable than Leather. the Sling is 5 stitches wide and is made from 550lb Parracord which is gives the sling a breaking strain of well over a tone. That is stronger than the synthetic webbing /neoprene slings that are on the market. Leather slings are good i have many myself but they are expensive and not as versatile a para cord sling and my paracord sling is just as strong as leather sling but not as durable.
