Thanks for this video! I actually just watched it without the intention to learn to knick socks, i just found it a really nice video, and of cours very informative. Now I’m off to get some needles and yarn, thanks for the inspiration!
Dear Dorret,
I must tell you, I have referred to this set of 4 videos on sock knitting at least 20 times.
Your explanation has been the only one I’ve made sense of and I thank you for your fabulous videos (and sock knitting skills!)
Thank You!
Dorret, ive just followed this is practice and discovered that one side is automaticly purl and the other stocking tich! amazing! and in my experiment i have also foudnt hat if i wanted to cast of and make a somple tube , how do i cast of so that the top is joined? your help please would be appreciated. thanks, Joe.
i’m very happy with this! As long as you know the common basics, which if you don’t just try it and you will get the idea right away. YOu may need to start over, but practice makes perfect!
Great vid, made knitting on dp’s look easy(ish) so I’m going to have a go – couldn’t really see what was going on when she was talking about the marker stitch though.
I personally think she does a great job at showing how to knit socks. I have an elizabeth zimmerman book that explains how to knit socks. This video shows a better understanding of what I read….I finished one sock! Now on to its mate ((worried)) lol

No good as this vid cuts away at the crucial bit when you need to see how to position your needles when knitting that first row!!
