it doesn’t really matter which side you start the stockinette on since the ribbing is the same on both sides.
glad you like my videos. please keep watching. new one today.
follow me and do what I do.
Judy, firstly and foremost thaankyouso much for uploading this, the only thing though is that i have a problem.
I dont know quite how to put this, but i know i what i mean.
when i finish doing the ribbing for and edge and i want to do stockinette stitch for a while, what side do i start the knit stich on ?
please try to simplify this
thanks
how i make those flat rib stitch??
ooooh, thank you. I have to start over on my beanie now, but at least I know what I did wrong.
THANK YOU
glad you got it! now, have fun knitting.
thank you!
oh, now I think I understand!?!! you are moving the yarn from the front and back for pearling and knitting before you take off the stich! because if you wrap the yarn front before taking the stich off …your doing a wrap around?! thanks, think I got it!
I was trying to figure this out also..I think I just figured out how to do this rib stich by watching this video! you start with two knit, then you wrap to the front to prepare for the pearl stich, then pearl two. Then move the string to the back between the needles and go back to knitting. With the pearl stich your yarn should always be in the front, knit is in the back…so if you forget which stich you just did…look at if your yarn is in the front or the back…hope this helps!
Wonderful, but a little fast. :/
Keep it up.
i think your videos are great but it would help if you could slow it down a bit
I am 10 years old but one experienced knitter! But what made my knitting even better was your videos. Every time I want to learn something new, no doubt about it, I immediately go to you. Your videos have helped me so much! Thanks Judy. Happy Knitting! ~Tr1shaPumk1n
okay so… ive been trying to do this litterly for hours, i cant do it.. its like i do it too tight…….. :’(
Hi Judy, thanks fir the video, but I have one question that wasn’t answered well by this, or any other rib stitch videos I’ve seen so far; How do you know where to move the thread before each stitch, especially when switching from knit to purl and otherwise? I’ve tried using methods found in books, but I always end up wrapping my yarn up and adding loops to rows. I can knit, and I can purl, and I can stockinette, but I can’t rib to save my life!
this is very helpful
thank you judy xx
Bonjour Judy!…I just wanted to give you a huge THANK YOU…I am an avid crocheter, and it is sometimes a mind boggle going to something like knitting when I am so used to crochet…I was having so much difficulty understanding this simple concept, but now I can successfully perfom this stitch due to your very helpful videos…thanks so much!!!
Thanks you so much!!! You are a life saver!!!
Judy,
I have been “knitting” for over a year but never used the proper method since the ways I had seen shown were so awkward (held needle on lap vertically). My stitches were always too tight and knitting went much slower than I liked.
After just a few minutes of practicing your method from the videos, I am now holding the needles properly, and knitting much more smoothly & quickly! I am so excited!
Thanks So much for posting these videos! You are a God-send!
You don’t slip the stitch off of the needle after you change from knit to purl or purl to knit. I try carefully to watch but it gets lost on me. I’ve never seen this before, of course, I’m very new at this.
Yes, i too was wondering if you must end the first row with a purl stitch…or does it matter? I didn’t think it mattered just as long as the second row is not began with the same kind of stitch I ended with in the first row. Thank you.
P.s. Wonderful video…your videos always help me out!
have you gotten it yet? hope so!!
I think I’m going to have to watch this one a few more times before I get it down. You’re very experienced, so you go a lot faster than I can follow.
I think I’ll get the hang of it, though.
i’ve tried rib stitch 4 times and havent got it but i’ve seen my mistake after watching this.
thanks!
this video is cool.
but does it matter if you end the row on a knit stitch then start the next rowon a purl stitch?
