Hello knitters! This video (which turned out kinda long, sorry 'bout that) shows you how to make increases using the 'knit into front and back of stitch' and 'purl into front and back of stitch' methods, aka 'kfb' and 'pfb'. These increases result in a horizontal 'bar' across the work, and for this reason it is also known as the 'bar increase'.

thank you so much , its really helpful with so much clarity
Thank you! I had the hardest time with pfb, and most of the videos here on youtube want to show you some personal variations. But this was easily the clearest.
Thank you!!! This helped tons!!!
Thank you! I was trying to work out the pfb based on the kfb and couldn’t get my head round it… but now it makes sense. Lovely stuff!
Yay! This worked! Thank you!
Thank for your excellent instructions! This helped me on a project… I was concerned that the horizontal bar meant I was kfbing incorrectly. Now I can proceed confidently!
Thank you for the clear instructions. Do you have a video showing how to knit holding the needle your style?
Fantastic! At last I can finish my tea cosy! Thank you.

Great video & super helpful. Thank you!
fantastic! thanks very much. appreciate your instructions
I don’t know how to hold the yarn in my hand like that. If I was able to I could probably knit faster.
BEST kfb video I’ve found. thanks so much for your help
Thank your for your most helpful instructions. The camera angle is GREAT. You go slow enough and explain as you go so that we see exactly what you are doing. Most helpful!
Thank you for this excellent instruction. I learned to knit ages ago and did a lot of knitting and then stopped. Over the years I forgot everything. Was unable to find instructions for increasing F/B in any of the many books, so your video solved my problem. Now I can continue on this new project. Thanks so much !
