Zen Knitting

Each time you stitch from one side of a flat project to the other, that’s a row. It doesn’t matter what the stitch pattern is.

Each time you stitch all the way around a circular project, that’s a round. It doesn’t matter what the stitch pattern is.

Each time you are working a flat project in GARTER stitch and you knit 2 rows, that’s one ridge.

Three terms: row (down and back), round (all the way around), and ridge (2 knit rows back to back or 2 purl rows back to back)

If it says Do 4 rows in St st, then you do:
knit 1 row
purl 1 row
knit 1 row
purl 1 row
Then go on to the next step.
