		<description>It would depend on the type of hat you want to make.  I usually use a H or I hook and a worsted weight yarn for my winter hats for adults.  I use D-F hooks and baby weight yarn for my preemie and baby hats.  These are for winter hats.  

For summer, I make open mesh hats using Caron light weight yarns.  I still use the same size hooks.

Google or Yahoo search for free crochet hat patterns.

Have fun &#039;cause there are a lot of them!</description>
