I would prefer sites with free or cheap shipping. I am looking for a good bulk site (3+ skeins to a bag), a regular retail site, and some handmade options. If you have some good Etsy favorites, I’d really like to find some quality handmade shops!

The majority of your suppliers of products will only grant you free shipping if you purchase a required { by them } amount of merchandise. I have ordered from Joann and get a discount from them on the yarn and usually the skeins of yarn are anywhere from 6 to 8 per bag.

Shipping is fixed: no matter how much you buy, it’s $12.95. Minimum order: $40.00. Not a really big choice of yarns, but name brands like Lion and Bernat, plus some imported beautiful yarns, at prices you can’t beat.

There yarns are of very good quality, you can sign up to get their email update and their catalog, they also have books for prices as good or better than Amazon. They also have free patterns that you can download directly from their web site.

You have to buy in bulk, and the shipping goes up as you buy more, but they have so many yarns with some really luxurious ones. A bit more pricey, but a lot of choices.
I personally bought from these 3 stores and have been very happy with my purchases. Shipping was fast and yarns were beautiful.
