I am knitting a baby blanket. I got turned around somehow and the pattern is messed up. I need to undo about 4 rows of knit and purl but do not know how to undo?

Take out the needle and pull on the yarn – the stitches will come right out. When you get close to where you need to be slow down, and don’t forget to count stitches when you’re putting the needle back in!

Keep a crochet hook handy in case one wants to slip away.
CAREFULLY take your needles out of the stitches. Then gently pull on your yarn to undo the last four rows. You might want to put a safety pin in your work where you want to stop ripping your stitches. That way you won’t get confused. When you get all the stitches ripped out, make sure you put the stitches back on your needle the correct way. If you’re looking at your knit stitches, the RIGHT leg of the stitch should be in front of the needle and the left leg goes behind the needle.
If one of your stitches gets too excited and and goes down too far, get a crochet hook and you can hook the stitches back up and put it/them back on your needle.

I agree with the other answers.
However, if you are not confident doing it that way, your only alternative is to undo it one stitch at a time and it may not take much longer to do. You just start by putting the needle through the stitch below the one on the needle. As you slide that onto the right hand needle, the one on the left needle comes undone, and you just keep on repeating that. You should try to keep the stitches facing the same way by coming in from the back of the work, particularly on the last row you undo so that your stitches aren’t twisted.
