I’m talkin’ STEP BY STEP and easy for DUMMIES! From havin a row of all one color…to a finished 2 to 20 color piece.
I need DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS, and ANY shortcuts possible!
I know how to knit, purl, VERY SIMPLE decrease-increase stuff, and bind-off. I also know how to cable. BUT I WANT TO DO INTARSIA STUFF!!!
I have been to knittinghelp.com since I started knitting 3 months ago. What I am looking for is a more “start to finish”, detailed video. Even a DVD would be great! (but online and FREE is ALWAYS better=) )

There are fantastic tutorial videos on practically everything knitted at http://www.knittinghelp.com — including how to do intarsia and fair-isle knitting methods. That’s how I learned to do both.
This video has some helpful info.

Good luck! I have yet to tackle the mystery that is intarsia

I put in “Knitting Intarsia Video” and got the following sites

I have done several Intarsia projects.. the biggest trick is to make sure you always have a twist in the yarn changes so that no hole will be there… . It does not have to be a tight twist, and actually should not be tight, but the twist of changing colors will only show on the back… If you opt to carry the unused color across the back [wrong side] of you project.. just make sure you don’t have either too much slack [it will droop...] or too little [it will pull]… the more you do this sort of work, the easier it will get….
I hope the above sites help some.
If you are at all interesting in seeing one of my Intarsia projects.. feel free to email me.
