On the cheap acrylic yarns, I can usually find the loose end inside the skein. (pull the single thread out of the left of the skein, and then fish for the loose beginning end out of the right hand side) but when I buy bulkier yard, and wool blend yarn – I can never find it on the first time, I end up pulling loops out of the middle and making a big mess.
What am I doing wrong??? Help!

There is no sure-fire way. Sometimes you just have to dig in and pull out a wad of yarn to find the end. Sometimes the end is hanging out – but if it isn’t, then it is very hard to find.
Many yarn manufacturers do NOT wind the yarn so that you can easily pull the yarn from the inside. I would suggest just using the yarn from the OUTSIDE instead of trying to pull the inside yarn out.
