I’ve knitted a scarf entirely in the stockinette (or stocking) stitch, ie. knit one row, purl one row. As everyone knows, the stockinette stitch rolls like a scroll, and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to the edges to make it stop rolling? Knit something? Crochet something? Anything! Please help?
Thanks!

Try knitting a small border on each side in garter stitch or basket weave. I’ve seen this done many times. If you prefer not to do this, then try blocking the piece when it’s finished.
I’m not a weirdo. I just learn stuff from my daughter.
When you finish you can pick up one stitch for each edge stitch and work an inch or so of garter or seed stitch edging on it outwards. This helps to control it. Next stockinette stitch piece you knit that is supposed to be staying flat (a scarf or afghan for instance, on a sweater the seaming will cancel out the roll as will the bottom ribbing or other band) make sure the outer inch on each side is a non rolling stitch such as these. Blocking only helps this temporarily.
