There are a lot of variables to that question. It depends on what size, stitch, and needles you are going to use. I have been knitting a ton of regular socks lately and can do a pair that come between ankle and crew length with just one 50 gram ball of sock yarn. I would make a guess at 5 50 gram balls of yarn, you might even want to get 6. Any leftovers you can always return.
Judging by this pattern http://www.whiteliesdesigns.com/patterns/llingerie/159.html , I’d say around 500 yards or 250 grams. If it were I buying the yarn, I’d buy 300 grams to be on the safe side. Or ask the folks at the yarn shop to hold a skein to see if I needed another. They’ll usually hold yarn for 30 days or until you phone to say you don’t need it, whichever comes first.
