if you work all day you can get it done
Depends, if your just using garter stitch (knitting every row) and using the usual method beginner’s use to knit, average scarf length about 60 inches knitting 1-2 hours a day 2-4 days.
It all depends. As a beginner, you need a lot of practice to get your tension all even. You can practice on this scarf, but the beginning is going to look like cr*p until you get used to what you are doing. Some scarves take a couple months to do. But an experienced person might be able to do them much faster. It all depends on the size of yarn and needles, the width, the length, the stitch pattern, and how much time you have to work on it.
Plan on giving it for Christmas. Get her something else for her birthday.
