I’m just starting so I’m sorry if it seems like too easy of a question. I saw a baby sweater in the yearn store and it seemed to me like it had purling on both sides of the fabric. The lady was pretty busy so I didn’t ask but I was wondering how would I get that affect? Right now I can get all the Vs on one side and all the “bumps” on the other. If I wanted all bumps would I simply purl every row? Or is this affect a whole different stitch?

I believe you’re talking about the garter stitch. This would be when there are bumps on both sides and to do this, you knit every row.
To get purl bumps on one side, you have the Vs on the other side. That is done with knitting stitch. You are now doing knit, and purl on the reverse side. Just knit all rows….. you will get bumps on both sides. It’s called “garter stitch” and is the first lesson you learn. Review your notes from your beginner classes. It’s all there.
You can either knit all stitches on both sides, or purl all the stitches on both sides, either way will get you garter stitch. What you are doing now is called Stockinette or Stocking (depends on where in the world you live) stitch.
Kay, you want to do garter stitch. All knits, no purls.
