I found this pattern and i did all right until the bottom with the fish tail border but I don’t know how to go about knitting it? I know their supposed to be knit seperately does that mean i have to join new yarn in for each point? I guess i’m just Kind of confused….

Yes, you will need to work on each point separately, placing the non-working stitches on stitch holders or waste yarn (I would do it in groups.) Do the first point to its tip and bind off. Then move to the next set of stitches and just start knitting, leaving enough of a tail (8 to 12 inches or so) to ensure that your connection is secure and to weave in later. You don’t need to use any knots to secure the loose end, just weave it in like you normally would. Repeat this process for each point.
i agree with what barbara said. work on the fishtails one by one.
