I’m making some hats for a local hospital and would like to use some pretty bulky weight yarn I have. But I can’t find a pattern to use. Please don’t just post links to sites unless they actually have bulky weight baby patterns–I’ve already checked a ton of sites with no luck.
thanks

Sweater Babe has one for sale:

You can crochet this hat:
http://susan.kraus.net/pages/pattern5.html
until the circumference is 14 inches, as states in the pattern. I would simply modify it as a scullie, in other words, I wouldn’t make a brim on it.
Here is Caron’s Gumdrop Baby Hat (made with bulky yarn as stated on the pattern)

If you have medium yarn (worsted weight) you could make this one:
http://www.caron.com/projects/ss/ss_santa_baby_hat.html
and trim it with your bulky yarn.
This pattern looks nice:

Finally, here is one, that, although the instructions say to make with worsted weight or medium yarn, the person who posted the link recommends using either a larger hook or bulky yarn:

Remember, the important thing here is the circumference, which should be close to 14 inches for a newborn.
Hope this helps.
