No, it tends to get gummy after a bit. That said, sewing machine oil will work, but the stuff you get in those little needlenose bottles–it’s 10w30 motor oil, so get a bit from your male person of association next time he changes the oil in the car. Just make sure it comes out of the newly opened bottle, not the engine. I get mine from hubby since there’s always just enough left after he’s replaced the old oil in my car.
