I consider myself an intermediate knitter and am not looking to felt a plain square…I am looking for something a little nicer to make for my grandmother. I haven’t seen anything that I like and I don’t know if there are ‘nice’ pot holder patterns out there but if you know of any (online or in a book) please share with me! Thanks in advance
HAPPY KNITTING!
Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it

If Gram is going to use it, I would recommend a 2-layer one. I usually knit/crochet [small stitches] til the rectangle is twice as large as I want the potholder, fold it over, and crochet the edges together with a single crochet or slip stitch. Then go all the way around with 2 or 3 double crochet [or half double] in each single/slip to make a decorative ruffle. Using variegated yarn makes it really pretty, either the holder or the ruffle
If it is to be merely decorative, a lacy granny square on top of a plain back might be nice.
Whichever you do, don’t forget a loop at a corner in case it is to be hung on a hook.

There are a bunch of them here. Im sure you could find a few you’d like.
I think you can find a lot of patterns and inspiration on the Potholder Swap blog.
