I appreciate the comment, Thank you. Happy crocheting. ~~Teresa
Thanks so much for posting this and passing along your knowledge. Our grannies and great-grannies wouldn’t have even imaged this type of technology. Always wanted to know how to do edgings on solid fabric! Thank you again. PLEASE, PLEASE keep posting your knowledge.
I would suggest a round of single crochet, then you can do this edging the same way.
This is so pretty. I was wondering how would you do this on a afghan blanket?
That would be really nice of you. I would enjoy to see how you begin the work. Love all your tutorials… Hugs
I know what you are talking about. We only do 2 sides for bath or hand towels here in the US. I will probably come up with a tutorial for a hand towel in the future. They turn out so elegant.
Sorry, I meant to say only on two sides of the elegant bath towels. The two shorter sides, or horizontal sides. Not on all four sides like you’re doing on this placemat.
Why only on 2 edges and what 2 edges do you work them on?
Hi Teresa, this is something we do a lot in Italy. Around tablecloths, napkins and even on elelgant towels, but only on 2 edges. Good work
You are welcome.
The place mat came with the holes from the sewn stitches.
looks like a sewing machine, longer running stitch
How did you get your holes on your place mate
Aren’t her videos some of the most soothing things to watch EVER?
Thank you.

You are welcome. This project alone can translate to pillow case edgings, fleece baby blanket edgings, cloth hats, hand towel, bath towels, or even shirts. Anything with a hard edge.
