claysdee, what I would suggest you do is this. Say you want your afghan’s width to be 40 inches and you want its length to be 60 inches. Subtract the width from the length, so 60 – 40 = 20 inches. So what you’ll want to do is make your sc foundation (excluding the first and last stitches of the foundation) 20 inches long. Then simply adapt the pattern here to incorporate your desired sc foundation length.
Have you ever done an afghan making one big rectangle? And if so can you tell me how to figure it so that it does not have to be really, really long to get a good width?
I’m a member of CP so will see it if you post it there.
I will be posting written instructions. I started with a foundation of 12, so if you want to use the chain, you will chain 12, + 3 for the first DC. It will all be worked the same from there.
Will you be posting some written directions and also, I hate keep asking questions, but how would you start this without the Foundation single crochet?
I would whip stitch them together using yarn from either block motif so the yarn blends and you do not see the stitching. There are a lot of quilting designs that can be crocheted.
Wahoooo!! I get to be the first to comment!! I am gonna use this square in conjunction with another granny square type thing I am doing. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Looks like an N sized hook to me.

No I didnt get anything from you lately except this one.
how would join these for the lag cabin blanket?
I was thinking that this might be a way to make some log cabin quilt type afghans using a variety of sizes.
Did you ever get the e-mail I sent you asking about the other square you were talking about?
