Hi Teresa,
I am wanting to make a blanket with three different colored squares using the seed stitch. The scalloped edging has me scratching my head…is there a way I can link the individual squares without having gaps or would it just be easier to continue the same color and run it the length of the blanket?
Thank you!
I appreciate the comment. I’m sorry, I do not have a pattern. I would suggest that you do a Google search using the keywords you mentioned. There are a lot of free crochet patterns
Teresa I just love your tutorials, Ive been learning each of your stitches by makeing a scarf with each one. It’s been so fun, even my neice got in on the fun when she came out for a visit. She is the inspiration for my guestion, Have you ever or could you come up with a rocker fingerless glove? I’ve found several knitted ones but not crochet. If you know how to do them i would love to see it posted. Or if you know where to find the pattern that would be great.
You can take just about any crochet stitch and use it in another pattern. If you come across a sweater pattern you really like, you could replace the main stitch of the pattern with the seed stitch.
Hi Teresa,
I was wondering If you could do a video of some projects you’ve done using these stiches… they’re all beautiful however, all i keep doing is scarfes and blankets. Do you have any other recommendations or ideas you’ve used?
Thank you sooooo much for all you videos. They brighten my day!
Instead of doing the full seed stitch, do 1 single crochet in the first and a double crochet in the next. You will be working 1 seed stitch over two stitches, reducing it down to one stitch.
im trying to make a baby blanket with this pattern….looks like it was getting shorter and shorter so had to start over dunno what the prob. could have been
yes that is right it is going into wrong place say .example. 1st rowe the stitch goes into the dc skiping the single, 2nd rowe it goes into single and skips dc, why. or is that right i thought all the stitches werw to go into dc and skip single. shelbra,
i don’t know how to explain it so u will understand. i had around 10 rowes that i did. it was wavy not stright and it was curving also. and when u go into the dc and do the single crochet , it wasn’t goin into dc when i skip one it would go into the single ch instead of going into the dc, sometimes not all the time.
Thank you for your video. I really do like the seed stitch and have started doing a afghan and have made several cotton dishcloths. My question is what other stitches would blend or go with the seed stitch? The seed stitch gives my afghan such a lacy look. To me it is such a pretty stitch. Thanks.

The seed stitch may not be a good stitch for squares if you want the gaps closed up.

It sounds like stitches have been missed. It is very important to count since stitches can easily be missed.

Then is sounds like the stitches are being placed in the wrong stitch maybe?

Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
thanks a lot for your generosity and for share your knowlege you are an artist.
If you wanted an open feel, you could use some filet rows between the seed stitch rows.

For this stitch or are you looking for something else?
There’s not much of a design to this stitch, and was wondering if there are any other variations….
