Thanks, this really helps. I’ve tried to do it before, following some written instructions and trying not to twist it. It was not much difference when finished.. jut more difficult! So I thought .. why bother?! NOW I can see that the twisted look is all that it is about.
this was great! i found a patter that used this stitch and had no ideas what it was. i crochet with my left hand left to right..so i would do the opposite then right to left in doing this stitch..correct?
Oh wow jsut fuond the perfect edging for my new hat. (black and red/white twilight, i am a huge fabn of the books but could not find a hat!!!) thanks so much. i will post a response vid when i finish so u can see it! thansk for about the millionth time =] lol
wow.. really great.. I was reading the instructions for this stitch in several books.. n confused.. and could not come to the exact one while doing of my own. UR video helped me in few seconds and I found my mistake.. thank u so much.. Terasa.. !!
Oh that’s so pretty! Is that your own discovery? (Forgive me if I’m being ignorant, but that’s just what I am regarding crochet. But your videos are incredibly helpful!)
I don’t have gauge recommendations for hooks specifically but you can do it yourself or you can look on the yarn label and the company should have a recommendation for gauge. Sometimes it can be hit and miss because so many people crochet so different. Their tension may be very loose or very tight. I have a lot of hat patterns but none that start at the bottom. No fingerless gloves at this time. If I come up with something I will post it in a future tutorial.
Hi Teresa Love all your videos. They have all been so helpful. You are the best! do you have a gauge for various sized heads. ie..a “J” hook for a 20 inch head, or would it just be a hit and miss? I also saw where the beanie was started from the bottom. do you have any demos for that? so far i have made small ones for babies, now i am trying to venture to the adult beanies. Also do you have any demos of the fingerless gloves. no separation for the fingers, just the thumb. Thank U!

wow! I learned something new. I’m finishing off a project that called for this edge. I’ve never heard of this before. Thank you for the great video it was very helpful Snookie
Thank you so much for the demo!
Could you possibly show how you would then single crochet in those stitches? I’m trying to follow a pattern that says to do that, but am having a hard time.

I was using two strands of yarn so that is the reason for the larger hook. The hard plastic hook is nice to use.
That was so clear! Thank you so much. With your help, it took me about eight seconds to get it right.
By the way, that’s a different hook than what you normally use. What are your thoughts on that one?
