I only have a 139 yards of Lion Chenille and I wanted to know if anyone had any good ideas on what I can crochet for my aunt on her birthday Friday.
I’m fairly new to crochet but I’m learning very fast, but if anyone posts any directions can you please make sure you can check back in case I have questions?
Thanks in advanced!
Oh, BTW, no scarfs. I made them scarfs for Christmas.

A hat to go with the scarf. You’ll need more yardage of yarn for a hat, though–either more chenille or a different yarn. Use the chenille for the cuff or brim of the hat; use another yarn for the main body of the hat. Or crochet a huge “flower” to trim a hat or pin to a lapel (one of the sites below has a pattern for such a flower; you may have to adapt it for chenille).

Other places that you’ll find tons of free patterns and loads of ideas are the sites maintained by the yarn companies. :

I thought maybe you could crochet a velvet snowman (it depends on the colour of your yarn and if your Aunt would like one), or a velvet pillow.
Hope you find something soon!
Because you have a limited amount of the yarn, you will want something fairly small. I would suggest that you use another yarn that will go with it, the same colour, or complimentary, to stretch it further. You can hold the yarns together, or do alternate rows with them. Creates some interesting patterns that way.
I’m not sure what you mean by “velvet” yarn. Do you perhaps mean chenille? There are some things you need to consider when using chenille, and one of the worst things it does is worm. That is, it will tend to make loops suddenly which sticks out of your fabric. It’s very annoying! You need to use tight stitches to keep it under control.

Don’t make fringe with chenille — it will ravel very fast!!
