I crochet and after crocheting for a long amount of time my hand begins to cramp up. I was wondering if if there is some sort of glove to help out with that.
These are actually made for quilters but they would work for you too – http://store.quilting-warehouse.com/notions-therapeutics.html
Take a look at the ‘craft glove’ (scroll about half way down this page to see them). Or the lycra support gloves (further down the page). They would work since they don’t cover your fingers and don’t constrict your wrist. You could also get a soft wrist/hand support in drug stores or even walmart. They’re made for people with carpal tunnel syndrome, but it would help in your situation, too.
Yes. you should be able to find it at a needle craft shop or on line in one of the many yarn shops. You might find that you are holding your needle to tightly or that you need to flex you hand periodically to avoid cramping.
I think yes there is a glove for support in crocheting…
I understand what you feel, i was like that when i first started crocheting, but now im used to it… I suggest that you used the appropriate hook size as suggested in the pattern… and before i was holding the hook very tightly, but when i learned how to hold the hook correctly it became easy… kindly check this site.. http://www.ehow.com/how_7419_hold-crochet-hook.html
I hope this could help u…

Yes, here are a few needlecraft support gloves carried at JoAnn’s:

You may also want to try a crochet hook with a larger handle so you aren’t pinching your thumb and fingers so close together. Here are a couple options:

You could also try putting a grip on your crochet hook like this:
