Im using a large hook and can only find it in acrylic, how can I stop it from squeaking when I crochet?
Thanks I am using Susan Bates and acrylic yarn! Since both of ya’ll answered the same I cant really pick a best answer
I dont know if there is a way. Maybe its the yarns too?
The thick fuzzy stuff like Lion Brand’s Homespun and Red Heart’s Baby clouds I use the acrylic hooks dont make noise. Things like Red Heart Worsted meduim Yarn make noises.
Sorry That this is not a true answer!
It may just be the yarn you’re using. I have a set of Susan Bates Crystalite hooks and I love them, but the sound of acyrlic yarn squeaking against the acrylic hook drives me batty. Sometimes cotton will squeak on them also. You could try using wool yarns and see if that helps. This is just one of those issues that really cannot be remedied, unfortunately.
