I have a crochet pattern I’m trying to read, and I can’t understand it that well. Its probably a lot easier than the other patterns people try to read, but I’ve never tried patterns before. It says I need to ’6 sc in Adjustable Ring, sc inc every st – 12, sc inc every 2nd – 18′ and it goes on like that. Can anyone help me understand what that means?
Ok, thanks to both of you! I understand it better now, and it seems to be working ^^

You need to make an adjustable ring (instructions here http://www.stitchdiva.com/custom.aspx?id=54) and then work 6 single crochet (SC) stitches into the ring. Single crochet is your basic crochet stitch (http://www.anniesattic.com/crochet/content.html?content_id=68). From there you work 2 SC into each stitch on the previous row (sc inc) giving you 12 stitches in all. Then you’re going to sc inc in every other stitch giving you 18 stitches in all and so on. You’re basically making a circle that is getting larger and larger the more rounds you work. Hope this helps.
The adjustable ring is also called the “magic ring”. It’s a method of starting crocheting in the round so you can adjust how tight or loose the ring is. Here’s how to do it: http://www.crochetme.com/forums/t/28917.aspx
Once you make the loop, you need to single crochet in it six times. After that, you single crochet twice in every stitch, which will make there be 12 stitches. Then, for the next round, you single crochet in one stitch, single crochet twice into the next stitch, single crochet in the next stitch, and so on until there is 18 stitches.
