Zen Knitting

Crocheting really isn’t very hard once you get the hang of it. Something like a beanie, where you would have to crochet in the round ( circular), might take a little more practice, but is definitely doable. It’s a great hobby to have- it’s a stress reliever, you can do it while talking to people, and you can make great gifts and things for yourself! You would need a crochet hook- either metal, plastic or wood. 5 or 6mm is a good starting point, or use whatever size your pattern indicates if you’re going from a pattern. You’ll need yarn- something simple and not too frilly/slippery is good for a first project. If you don’t have someone who is going to teach you, a book is a good idea. I really like Crochet Basics, by Jan Eaton. It’s got good pictures and instructions and fun patterns.
