I am crocheting a two piece swimsuit for my daughter and I need to crochet around the cup and can’t determine what stitches I am suppose to single crochet in on the sides of the rows. It looks great so far and I don’t want it to go sour. Can anyone help?

On the slanted side of the cups i would put a single crochet or the picot stich. Just use the end of each row as one stich. Try for a few stiches, and if you don’t like it, pull it out and try something else. Good Luck.
Typically, you should put one stitch in the end of each row if the rows are single crochet. When I do edging, I go around the last stitch on the row. A lot of crocheters go through it, but I find it easier to go around the stitch. If you don’t like the way that looks, you can always redo it. Another tip I have is that, if possible, when you are going to be putting an edging on, do a round of single crochet in the same color as the appears in the piece the most. Then continue with the edging as in the pattern after that.
If, when you do the edging, the piece ripples when you try to lay it flat, there are too many stitches. If you do that and it curves up or puckers, you need more stitches.
Determining where to put the stitches in the ends of the rows can be tricky. If you have and double crochet, you might need to put two stitches in the side of each double crochet, but again, the rule I just mentioned applies.
