I think a crocheted shirt of that size would be both too heavy and unuseful for use as real hospital wear, unless it were simply a sweater or shawl-type thing made with large “holes” in the crochet just to wear over a regular hospital gown, etc.
any crochet stitch would be to hard to lie on smooth none nylon fabric with minimal seams is best[organic cotton] but shoulders get chilly grandma’s[oops i am one] bed jacket/shawl would be a great item to make i have a rainbow coloured one cheers everyone up
