How do I make a crochet heart that looks like a heart?

I’ve tried a pattern for crocheting a heart but it looks like a blob how do I crochet a heart?

I’ve used this pattern to make a little purse, but you could just make one heart. You have to be signed up for ravelry, but if you’re not, do it. It’s free, no spam and totally worth it.

I have found the first video very helpful . I have used her directions for crocheting a cloche hat, she is very good at teaching methods .
