I like the look of entrelac, but I don’t knit. Can you get the same effect with crochet? I’ve been searching all over the net and can’t find any entrelac crochet patterns.
I just googled ‘entrelac crochet patterns’ and found loads of sites and at least one blogspot giving a demonstration. Start of with
http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to-crochet-entrelac/
and then do what I did for the others.
You can get the same effect with Tunisian crochet (also called Afghan-stitch crochet).
These three tutorials will get you started: http://www.hookyarnandneedles.com/oldstuff/node/38 http://www.hookyarnandneedles.com/oldstuff/node/39 http://www.hookyarnandneedles.com/oldstuff/node/40
There are books and booklets on Tunisian Entrelac here:http://www.gourmetcrochet.com/index_files/Page556.htm
You want to do something called Tunisian crochet to make the little blocks set on edge that are entrelac.
One warning: crochet will be thicker and stiffer than knitting.
